She’s launching a new division that will do research and help find funding for proven anti-crime and rehabilitation programs. The new initiative will be part of the California Department of Justice. Harris said it’s needed because the criminal justice system simply isn’t cutting it.
This new initiative will dramatically increase the demand for Certified Anger Management Facilitators statewide. AAAMP will seize this opportunity to actively participate with all of the stakeholders in enhancing the capacity of violent offenders to develop skills in self-awareness, self-control, social awareness and relationship management. It is clear that only curricula with Pre and Post Tests and client workbooks will be considered.
In January, the American Association of Anger Management Providers will hold an open meeting for all professional providers of anger management in California. The purpose of this meeting will be to discuss ways to position AAAMP to play a key role in this new initiative.
