Continuing Education Units (CEU) training can be presented individually in a self-study format using AI. Various platforms and courses are designed to facilitate self-study and incorporate AI tools to enhance learning experiences.
1). AI Literacy: Ethical & Practical Behavioral Health Tools: This course provides behavioral health professionals with a foundational understanding of AI, covering its fundamentals, ethical considerations, and practical applications in therapy and diagnostics. The course offers 24/7 access, interactive modules, case studies, and automatically graded post-tests, making it suitable for self-study.
2). Hopes and Fears for AI—OT Potential: This course, approved by the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA), allows participants to earn CEUs through a one-hour online course. It includes discussions with experts on adopting AI in occupational therapy, its practical implications, and future opportunities. The course is designed to meet continuing education requirements and can be completed independently.
3). Generative AI in the Classroom: Although not precisely a CEU course, this resource from the Yehuda Elkana Center at Central European University (CEU) discusses how generative AI can be incorporated into coursework. It provides guidelines for communicating with students about AI use, redesigning assessments, and integrating AI into courses, which can be adapted for self-study formats.
We at Anderson & Anderson, APC, have redesigned our 16-Hour Batterer’s Intervention Facilitator Certification course to a self-study format using AI. Click here to learn more about this Continuing Education training.
These examples illustrate that AI can effectively integrate into self-study CEU training, providing flexible, accessible, and interactive learning experiences.
