Emotional Intelligence may be the missing component in effective batterer intervention programs.

Certified Batterer’s Intervention Programs can enhance their effectiveness by incorporating EQ-I-2.0 assessments, curricula, videos, and EI client workbooks.

Probation-approved programs are allowed to develop their course content, which has resulted in few participants completing the programs and a high rate of recidivism. The ineffectiveness of these programs has led to an extensive audit of them in California.

Los Angeles-based Anderson & Anderson, APC, is a pioneer in training,
publishing, and utilizing Emotional Intelligence Assessments, workbooks,
videos, and related training materials for program providers in domestic
violence, serving both perpetrators and victims.

The two-day course provides participants with instruction and demonstrations on using published EI-based Client Workbooks, as well as access to videos and post-training mentoring in four sessions. Before the training, each attendee will receive a copy of the Amazon.com published “A Ray of Hope” workbook and “The Contrasting Wheels of Behavior” by George Anderson, MSW, LCSW.
